The basic premise of this SAGE-sponsored Film Reading Group is that we'll be screening a film in conjunction with reading theoretical/ analytical text(s), and then meeting to discuss it all. The group as a whole (based on individuals' suggestions) decides on the screenings, readings, and meetings.
The Film Reading Group is open to all matriculated graduates in the English and Communications Departments at Wayne State University. The group is also considered "open" in the sense that participants can attend or not attend meetings at-will. However, if you attend a meeting, you will be expected to have screened the film and read the corresponding theoretical/analytical text(s) for discussion.
To be a part of this Film Reading Group, please join our list serv by going to the following address and clicking on "Join or Leave the List": http://lists.wayne.edu/archives/filmophiles.html. All discussions about meeting times/dates, screenings, and readings will be done via this list serv.
Because this reading group is sponsored by SAGE, there are a few basic guidelines that apply to all SAGE-sponsored reading groups so please visit our website to review them: http://www.english.wayne.edu/sage/readinggroups/guidelines.htm.
If you have any questions, please contact the Film Reading Group's organizer, Cindy Spires (English), at aw6993@wayne.edu.
