Course Details.
Eng 1020 is a first year writing course designed to teach you how to develop a claim, support that claim, and present it to a given audience. In this course, you will learn how to conduct research in order to develop an idea, how to synthesize that research, and how to demonstrate it on paper and on the Web.
The focus of this particular section of 1020 is Detroit. We will read a text about place and one's relationship to the various places one inhabits . Then we will use the text as a model to compose something similiar about our various relationships with Detroit. The major assignment will be divided into three parts; each part is meant to teach you a distinct part of the writing process.
