Area of Specialization:
Fiction of Dickens and Thackeray; poetry of Tennyson; on-going interest in H.G. Wells; current large project - the military in 19th-century British literature and culture. Also interested in description in literature. Current research project is a book-length study of the military in nineteenth-century British literature and culture.
